Mrs. Wolfe was no ordinary teacher, and her classroom was no ordinary classroom. But let’s back track for a second. It all started at 12:00 lunch in the cafeteria. Esperanza was so excited to have a special meal made by her mother. She opened her lunch bag to find a colorful dish of Paella. However, this excitement was disrupted when two boys from her class looked at the food her mom had prepared with disgust yelling “EWWWWWW!!!!” Directly followed by this comment, the boys started running around the cafeteria table saying “Esperanza is eating her spanish food again and it smells so gross!!!” Unfortunately, this was a typical perspective held toward anyone different in Peachyville. After hearing these comments, embarrassed, Esperanza ran out of the cafeteria in tears. Mrs. Wolfe witnessed this entire interaction amongst her students, and was very distraught by it. She knew she had to take action.
